23. Change is scary when happens to you. Gave engineers control over timeframe, allowed grace period if they were leveled below what they wanted. Even though it didn’t work, they felt better about it. @lisa_van_gelder

53. Positive transfer of control - it’s clear who is in charge. Also, everyone is encouraged to positively challenge decisions. This was a response to plane crashes. People were saying things, but not directly. Need to teach people how to disagree. @rmurphey

55. Change is most effective when people are honest. Reward hard feedback. If people are open to it, publicly thank the person who gives hard feedback. Admit when you’re wrong. People take their cues from leaders as to how to handle failure. @lisa_van_gelder

58. Moved to tracking team velocity rather than individual volocity. Business was under pressure, developers did not know though. No one had told them so as not to worry them! This got them more motivated and aligned. @lisa_van_gelder
