  1. Amazing! Thank you so much!
  2. No! But I wired up one of them and now it’s working better.
  3. Good things about the current situation: - being depressed is now socially acceptable - being neurotic about cleanliness actively encouraged - individually wrapped pastries at the grocery store
  4. Ohhh I love @Grangerandco
  5. Thanks! I had eggs and cream so I figured... why not try. They were pretty tasty :)
  6. Hahaha thank you!
  7. Yeah I was completely wireless but wiring one is fine, I can wire a second if necessary. Hoping this fixes it and no need for you to do more :) It used to disconnect periodically but had been much worse since everyone is shut at home :(
  8. It’s just you 🙈
  9. I really like this - On not being a shit umbrella - https://buff.ly/3bDFoqA /by @EleanorMollett

  22. Are those quantities circular or some kind of radius of the cheese 🧀
  23. Ooh! What’s that? Were they tasty?
  24. Ooh, ngl I have contemplated making raspberry pie. Here there is basically... no pie. Maybe Apple. That’s it.
  25. I knowwwwww so excited 😍🥰
  26. 🤩 I have learned from you, clearly. Please inform brad I will be able to contribute on his podcast 😆
  27. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
  28. I was thinking last night about how there was a period where Twitter was pretty shitty and I got a bunch of harassment and now it’s like... I post very basic Domestic Achievements like buying a plant or scrambling eggs and y’all give me so much validation. Thank you 🖤
  29. You’re such a weirdo poor @maxeaubrey
  30. My guest room is finally done! Art from Japan (and somewhere else? Maybe Canada), blanket from Israel, lamp from Iceland. It’s so pretty I am so pleased 🥰
  31. 😆
  32. Every one else is posting about the Coronavirus so I guess we should too...but we are going to do it Newhouse style...
  33. Hahaha thank you! I read something about how if you wanted something to taste like a restaurant just add butter and cream so I did that and they were quite tasty.
  34. Yesssss and you 🖤
  35. That’s so exciting!
  36. Signs I am more strung out than usual: shortest ever distance between raccoons and existential panic. (My poor friend is working through these questions now 😆 I love her 🖤)
  37. What’s wrong with that? I did that earlier today. And yesterday. And the day before.
  38. That’s great! :) I don’t think we have to know the state of the world right now, the global news is all the worst scary stuff.
  39. Ooh nice! I have literally no baking equipment and my oven does not work tho so I will have to hold off for a bit
  40. What the fuck are you doing to this cheese, Dani?
  41. Grrr how can someone compare a screen printer and a LASER these things are not comparable
  42. The most on brand 🦕🦖
  43. My @glowforge

  53. Yessss
  54. Oh it is beautiful!
  55. So on brand
  56. 🤔 If only I looked as adorable whilst social distancing as this 🦝 https://t.co/n4XrlpycBO
  57. So relevant to my interest in friendship between women, and DLS is one of my fave authors, I love love love the name "mutual admiration society" - The Secret Society of Women Writers in Oxford in the 1920s https://buff.ly/2KnzSxb /via @stephanieburgis
  58. An American just asked me what it’s like to have competent public officials and it’s like... this video. Knowing the numbers. Giving a damn about everyone. Making reasonable requests of the public whilst the gvt does as much as possible. I super recommend it.
  59. Ah javi, I appreciate your optimism about me. My oven hasn’t worked in months.
  60. 😆 amazing. Your priorities are in order 🖤
  61. My friend was feeling low today and my usual options for cheering up are ofc off the table so I stole her grocery basket of random pmt snacks and bought them for her whilst she wondered around looking for it 😆
  62. Super glad you found it helpful!
  63. Got your postcard @catehstn! 😍
  64. 😘
  65. I shouldn’t laugh... but I did 🙈 I’m sorry babe!
  66. You’re right it is a bit full on in the morning 🙈
  67. I’ve been up and down but the last few days I feel pretty happy overall. Sometimes I feel lonely and then I remember how annoying other people are. I had some time off work planned anyway so life is generally low stress and I think that helps a lot.
  68. Oh lovely idea!! Can I send you a quarantine postcard?
  69. I have really embraced the sweatpants life lately 😆 or mainly things that are easily washed.
  70. ☁️ https://photo.cate.blog/2020/04/%e2%98%81%ef%b8%8f-9/…
  71. How are you all doing today? I’m okay ~70% of the time, it turns out that the vast majority of my life was unnecessary and I’m fine without it. Trying to just be in the moment which... well I’m not really given to Advanced Planning anyway.
  72. Nice! Love your hair 🖤
  73. Yay!!!
  74. 😆🖤
  75. Raccoons just wanna be freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 🦝 https://t.co/TCg574jheq
  76. But today I was just like... fuck it, I can’t, and spent the entire day playing LEGO Jurassic. I didn’t understand the whole humans bringing back dinosaurs the first time and it remains equally bizarre to me. But escaping reality for several hours is... a relief.
  77. Lmao I have at least 3 months supply of key beauty products. Maybe more.
  78. They are so perfect 😍😭
  79. Actually did my makeup today to talk to @coleadershiphq

  83. They are not fat they are fluffy!
  84. It’s not my fave game, I wanted to replay marvel super villains but it keeps crashing and losing my progress 😭 but any LEGO game is nice enough!
  85. Thank you 🖤

  87. Thanks for sharing that
  88. I knowwwwww I was looking through photos yesterday and was like “oh shit that trip to sf was this year” it seems like a lifetime ago

  95. Seriously, the ONE TIME I engage in advanced planning.
  96. 🖤
  97. I am resisting animal crossing and replaying all my LEGO games.
  98. That sounds great :)
  99. At least we were together right before the forcible separation of everyone from everything 💋
  100. 💯 we will do the same! 🖤
  101. It’s a good thing I went to therapy and learned coping mechanisms aside from hitting the gym and leaving the country and I hope I remember what those are any minute now 😭😭😭😭😭

  132. There are Good Product Managers and there are Great Product Managers. There are also Okay Product Managers and Bad Product Managers, but we will focus on the Good and the Great here. Good Product Managers, Great Product Managers, a thread:
  133. I just bought a whiteboard 😆 or using a lot of postits can also help.
  134. I think the usually noisy events of our day to day lives are being drowned out by the literal sirens of pandemic right now. But life hasn’t stopped; it continues under constraints. Life events still matter, even if small in context. People need to feel loved more than ever 🖤
  135. Less on brand: a bunch of plants.
  136. 😍
  137. Aww that’s great! I also appreciate you!
  138. Ooh I like it 😍 but... JK is a TERF 😭

  145. Yessss!! And my friend only wanted two so I got an extra 😋
  146. Oooh exciting!! YOU are a Domestic Goddess!!
  147. And plated... (Two plates, one has a before and after applying gravy)
  148. I live in a country with Marks and Spencer’s food so disclaimer it is more of an assemblage than creation.
  149. Ahhh such a perfect beautiful creature!!
  150. 🙃
  151. Everything is ready
  152. Yeah!!! Sky drone adventures are the only adventures we have right now 😍
  153. 👅
  154. Rebecca the raccoon, Calvin Coolidge was the prez.
  155. I was totally clueless about interior design until I had to do my house 🙈 so thank you!!
  156. It’s like Grace Hopper said, cooking is like programming. You just need to know how to instantiate each component, and how long they each take to compile 🤔
  157. And now the kitchen is back to looking like this... I am a Domestic Goddess (aside from being 1) entirely reliant on m&s 2) unable to hang art myself)
  158. 🥰
  159. Aww 🖤
  160. 🖤
  161. Yesssssssss I love that story!! Great picture!!!!! 🖤
  162. 😆
  163. Yesssssss!!
  164. No I would never subject a delicacy to my limited culinary skills. I am roasting a piece of beef. It is already underway.
  165. Went a bit higher up, tried to go towards the river, panicked, used come home function and landing was a challenge. That was exhilarating through!! Omg!!
  166. Aww I’m glad you’re coping 🖤 I’m sorry you threw your back out! That sounds painful! I am glad you have a good person with you!!
  167. Lovely!

  212. 🌷 https://photo.cate.blog/2020/04/%f0%9f%8c%b7-6/…
  213. Hahahaha 😆
  214. Watching a movie about awkward British people who hate each other and it's really helping reduce my missing of human contact by reminding me that humans are often terrible.
  215. Two of them just kissed and then... "Thank you" "Thank _you_"
  216. That’s great! Go you!
  217. More backyard photography from my mom! Today’s theme is flying.
  218. I can’t stop thinking about how she died as a result of her job as a HEALTHCARE WORKER and then her family’s health insurance was cut off 30 days later. That is not civilized.
  219. Omg!! An otter eating pizza! That would be AMAZING!!
  220. 😆 it is the epic story we need in this dark timeline
  221. Yeah I’m gutted 😭

  236. I’m super upset. This trip was _so expensive_ 😭
  237. 🖤
  238. I mean you can *suggest* it...
  239. Right?!?
  240. Your pandemic pet name: every day activity you miss the most + form of human contact you long for. The animal is the one you are most likely to adopt out of loneliness and desperation.
  241. What animal! Coffee Cuddles is a great name 🐰
  242. I could use some fluff rn 😭
  243. Spring! https://photo.cate.blog/2020/04/spring/
  244. Yeah it’s not worth it for most things.
  245. My friend: a baby monkey named “Gym Cuddles” Me: a bunny named “Brunch Hugs”
  246. Travel insurance is such a scam 😭 They have a blanket exception for pandemics apparently. This is the last time I book anything more than a month in advance 😭😭😭😭😭
  247. I knew this was not going to be good when I got an email from them this morning that was basically “your travel insurance is about to expire but you probably don’t want travel insurance right now kthxbai”
  248. 🙈
  249. That is my insta vibe rn 😆
  250. Thank you!

  252. This is great but I live in Ireland :)
  253. Aww look, a bunny card for the festival of the chocolate egg from my parents 🥰
  254. Great gift idea for a friend tho ;)
  255. When this whole thing started I was planning on checking myself into the spa but every day my to-do list for when we are released back into the wild becomes more prosaic.
  256. ALL I WANT IS PEONIES AND A NEW LEGO GAME AND NEITHER ARE AVAILABLE 😭
  257. Do you have a picture? I need to see it 😭
  258. Thanks for including my article :)
  259. Ahh she is so fluffy 😻

  262. I’ve just realized the garden centre is doing free delivery and you can just email them and tell them what you want... someone stop me before I build a garden on the technically public space terrace in front of my house...
  263. 😭 you are all enablers
  264. Purrrrrfect
  265. Aww I would love that. I am desperately allergic to cats though :(
  266. Beautiful!
  267. I may be the only person with a switch who 1) regrets not getting a ps4 instead and 2) is not playing animal crossing.
  268. 😻
  269. Is it weird if I email my hairdresser asking to get on a list to see my stylist at literally any time when they reopen? ...and what about the dentist?
  270. SO MANY PHONE CALLS ALL I WANT IS A HUG 😭
  271. You are so kind!! I am such a fan of yours so this has made my day/week/month 😍🥰
  272. Ooh I loved how to be a person in the world!!
  273. It’s such a helpful framework. From a book called the truth about burnout, but this article is a good summary: https://forbes.com/sites/johnrampton/2015/05/13/the-6-causes-of-professional-burnout-and-how-to-avoid-them/…
  274. I am NOT going to cry because people send digital documents and demand physical ones right now and I am also NOT going to buy a fucking printer.
  275. ❣️
  276. Same. Although maybe meet them and be terrified.
  277. haha i thought about that, but then i just got the most unhelpful response so I decided to complain on the internet instead
  278. It’s a New Zealand kiwi
  279. My dad does it for me 😆
  280. 😍🖤🥰
  281. Haha the pilot loves it.
  282. 🖤🖤🖤
  283. Love this episode of @shouldwepodcast
  284. 🖤 “No matter how relatively privileged we undoubtedly are to be living in Australia, there is only so many times you can tell yourself “I am so lucky” before it is no longer a useful coping tool.” https://buff.ly/3cBBoY6 /by @NyadolNyuon
  285. Such a helpful post from @jyhsu
  286. Whaaaaat that is obscene!!
  287. If someone tells you that they have no means to produce a physical document telling them again that they have to... is not helpful.
  288. 💚 https://photo.cate.blog/2020/04/%f0%9f%92%9a-2/…
  289. 😭🖤
  290. I have been saying that humanity had 3-5 years left max for YEARS
  291. 🌱 https://photo.cate.blog/2020/04/%f0%9f%8c%b1-8/…
  292. That kind of feedback is generally "we weren't completely sure so we picked something that sounds plausible and not biased". As a hiring manager, when I've dug into things I've rarely found something of substance behind it, if anything, small things multiplied by bias.
  293. The other aspect of it is some people - often, ime, white women - don't want someone more senior / visible / whatever, because it threatens their status as chief Karen and gatekeeper of what "diversity" is. Putting someone down is a way to assert status.
  294. 🖤 it’s from a book called “the truth about burnout” but I think this article is sufficient for understanding: https://forbes.com/sites/johnrampton/2015/05/13/the-6-causes-of-professional-burnout-and-how-to-avoid-them/…
  295. The @monzo
  296. Enabler 😆
  297. Lmao yes Duretti is a better Clarissa
  298. This happened.
  299. Ah an imaginary pet, that would be a significant improvement in these trying times.
  300. Realistic expectations and knowing you are not alone help a lot imo, I hope this was true for you!
  301. Yay! Go you!
  302. Either euphonia or Clarissa I am not sure
  303. Haha it's great!! I love it! 🖤
  304. This is an incredible profile of @staceyabrams
  305. 🖤
  306. An unexpected side effect of this whole thing is that I have learned about various different Cuomo’s and what it is they do.
  307. I ordered some gift boxes from this place for a friend for her birthday (she liked them!): https://indichocolate.com
  308. Woah!
  309. 🖤 I'm pleased with it!
  310. Oh that sucks :(
  311. I am happy to do a gift consult directly with @ryelle
  312. Haha thanks 🖤
  313. I know i would not have believed it a few years ago 😆
  314. Thank you 🖤
  315. Lmao okay all my suggestions are shit if it’s for you!! 😆
  316. Ooh I love this pen: https://kohezi.com/products/ystudio-rollerball-pen… bought it for my dad for the pagan festival! For his birthday he’s getting flowers and a hamper 😆
  317. Okay @MichelleBee directed me to https://intentionalist.com and I found three local businesses and ordered my friend creative and interesting gifts! Firstly, thanks Michelle 🖤 Secondly, this is a nice way to support small businesses and show someone you love them!
  318. Today is the last day of some real time off partly driven by needing to get some life admin under control - I had accumulated so much life debt (incl literally such as dramatically overpaid taxes). My life admin Trello board is so under control & I feel so much better for it 🥰
  319. Imo: - things from local small businesses. There’s a directory I can send you if useful. - consumables are always good, things that brighten up a space or small luxeries that people aren’t as likely to buy for themselves (diffusers/candles/hand cream) - flowers are also good!!
  320. It’s amazing how given enough therapy you can just... do more of the things that make you happy and less of the things that do not. Even more wild: some people skip the therapy and just like... always lived like that.
  321. 😆
  322. Thank you! My cleaners made it for me 🖤
  323. Omg 😍🥰
  324. So much is in the “done” column and various things that felt existential are now in a “waiting” state. I have actually filed ~18 months of health insurance claims, three years of taxes, got something moving that I had been trying to sort out since 2015. Wild.
  325. I struggle so much w/bureaucracy actually setting aside time & making it a priority was… necessary, I guess. Trying to do it exhausted on evenings and weekends was not working. Buying a house alone whilst having a super overhelming job had just buried me in it. Now I feel FREE!
  326. Cultivating my aura of mystery 😎
  327. Happy birthday!!! I feel you, mine is in ~10 days and I am having some FEELINGS. DM me your address? 🖤
  328. You too can have chocolate mint lip balm and chocolate mint tea!

  331. Oh wow, that’s fascinating! So glad it’s helping!
  332. Yesssss! I have tasks to do now, not projects.
  333. What is EMDR? But yeah totally agree, school probably undermined emotional resilience or happiness more than supported it.
  334. Haha the pink ones in the middle are azealeas :)
  335. Haha thank you!!! Did you see the arrangement of roses I did? I am pretty pleased with that one :)
  336. 🖤🖤🖤 thank you I hope that for you too 🖤🖤🖤
  337. That sounds like a great idea!
  338. This is pretty funny 😆 https://youtube.com/watch?v=TkVF4UXPx9E…
  339. I am not yet at the point of loneliness where I start naming plants 😆
  340. I realized leaving my house was part of why I really loved the gym, so I started going for long walks every morning and then I come back and do the other stuff (kettlebells and sit-ups mainly). Probably not getting any fitter but at least maintaining, and also lots of daylight.
  341. Yay!!!! One of the interesting things about this was how little energy I had for personal projects even though it didn’t take up much time. The computer has been associated with things I find super hard and miserable lol but hopefully I can get that creativity back soon.
  342. Ooh I really wanted a rhododendron but they grow to 5ft... it wouldn’t work under the window :(
  343. Oh I love that gif. There’s so many aspects that it’s hard to isolate, I also felt pretty burnt out and have been struggling with pandemic. So will see what shifts now :)
  344. Thank you! I am pleased with it. Also, love how you can see the kitchen blinds pop in that pic! 😎
  345. 🖤🖤🖤
  346. 🖤
  347. Amazing 🖤
  348. Oh that’s great! Will look out for the blog post when it goes up!

  351. This is my current fave: https://clinique.co.uk/product/1605/4772/makeup/lipsticks/almost-lipstick… I have two other friends (different coloring) who also both LOVE it. Just trust me.
  352. Haha well you also deserve 🧁🖤
  353. Thank you! I’m waiting on two more small pots and then it will be complete 🥰
  354. T-1 week to my birthday, every day without crying is now a win.
  355. I mean agree, but mine has basically stopped which... isn’t a whole lot better tbqh 😭
  356. ... i feel like you don't know me at all 😆
  357. 😆 I mean people don’t change _that_ much, I didn’t move to a rural place!!
  358. 🖤
  359. My tears to be clear!! Omg I basically cried all day 😭
  360. Remember that time maybe earlier this year although possibly several years ago when my team was planning our meetup over my birthday and I was like, I’m not veto-ing the date, I’m just setting expectations that there will be a LOT of crying that day.

  365. A townhouse in an apartment complex in the city center 😆
  366. For your peace of mind 😆
  367. Now I’m like imagine getting to go to an airport - literally any airport!!! And spending time with humans!!! Almost any humans!!!! Madness. I can’t even imagine airports or human contact anymore.
  368. Is that... all of cork in your head? Or one dwelling within it?
  369. Oh wow! Super cool 🖤
  370. Yay!!
  371. I don’t have a backyard I live in an apartment complex 😆
  372. 😆
  373. Your priorities don’t seem well aligned with the harsh twitter reality. Every interaction is a Cate brand opportunity. And this one was missed at best.
  374. absolutely
  375. omg 🤣
  376. Regardless of engagement it's important to me that I have your most amusing moments documented.
  377. The way home 🖤 https://photo.cate.blog/2020/04/the-way-home-%f0%9f%96%a4/…
  378. Omg that cat is so fluffy 🖤
  379. Today one of my peers told us he hates: - sourdough 🥖 - plants 🌱 - the fact that we apparently don’t have free will 🤯 I desperately want to know other things he hates but we really couldn’t get him past that third one 😆
  380. Just discovered 🤍 maybe it’s time for another rebrand.
  381. You are special 💋
  382. Wow!
