Feels about learn to code thing. I learned C aged 16 because was at a fancy pants boarding school. In state school would have learned excel.
-
We had 6 or maybe 8 people in the class and the teacher was pretty good. Classes that small are okay when students parents pay £££££.
-
Of course I was the only girl and at times that sucked.
-
But not gonna lie, if my family couldn't have afforded to send me to that kind of school... I would never have learned to code beyond html.
-
Not just programming: I made photograph developer using vitamin c. Peers in state school wrote papers, didn't get to do experiments.
-
Basically: science education in the UK 10-15 years ago was something you paid cash-money for, or maybe got lucky with location.

I don't know if that has changed now, but I doubt it.
