        1. I can't tell how how jarring it is when Americans ask me as a European if Europe is safe given the amount of murder I hear about in the US.

        Stuff happens in Europe. For sure. Terrorism is a risk. But women can mostly get reproductive health care without being murdered, fewer guns

      There is basically no European city that I wouldn't wonder alone at night. Even Paris or brussels. I'll be back in Paris as soon as I can.

      FWIW attitude to risk when travelling is pretty pragmatic. It's bad for business to kill tourists. Exactly why targeted tourists in Tunisia.
