      1. On the stripe hiring teams thing, I see this as recognition that building a high performing team is hard, so why not acquire one wholesale.

    I think this is because the skills to do this are unclear, and heavily dependent on context - specifically the organization.

      So often companies get this wrong. Hire some white dude exec from one company, wonder why he isn't effective, after some period, fire him.

        Why does this happen? His previous "effectiveness" driven by context, or maybe wasn't really effective because failing upwards is a thing.

            Anyway I am skeptical of this strategy which I think will be difficult for all the reasons integrating acquisitions is difficult.
