So true. Worst shit I've got suggesting I'm "unlikable" was me pushing back on men making stupid technical decisions skamille/754354519123845120

Like this one time when a guy spent 30 mins implementing "event driven programming" for iOS, 30 mins presenting it, and I took it to bits.
-
You know what we call event driven programming on iOS? Programming. But he knew shit about the platform and it was full of memory leaks.
-
Of course the problem was my tone and not that uninformed idiot wasting everyone's time.
-
Although really the problem was that I had a technical opinion whilst female.
-
It was also suggested we needed to learn from what we had been doing on android - a project that shipped > 6 months late.
-
When on iOS we had sent to the App Store in 3 months, got feature parity in 6. Somehow there was nothing to learn from that one.
-
I never understood why the thing to learn wasn't "don't get distracted building a platform when you are supposed to ship a product."
-
TL;DR when it comes to technical disagreement men should stop saying women are "mean" when what they actually are is "right".
-
(Being hyperbolic here because ofc not always right, but the point is: women need to be able to disagree without being tone policed.)
