Shortly after we met for IrlNoah said something like "we can be friends without consumerist ideas of utility" and I found it very profound.
-
People in our life who are useful, but we aren't "friends" because we are useful. We want to be valued for who we are not what we do.
-
I commented to someone we hadn't spoken in a while and they said "I was going to contact you when I wanted your help", felt pretty shit tbh.
-
Think about original comment. Because when many people find me "useful" all the more important are the people who see me as more than that.
-
This is part of why I'm hiding lately. Feel pretty drained by all of this. Hug someone you care about & tell them you appreciate them today.
-
Soooo not blogging this month, no speaking planned & will take at least first half of next year off, doing even worse than usual at email.
