I think that the Muslim ban means that if you ask someone to travel to the US you are de facto asking them two questions.

1) if they are Muslim 2) if they were born in a specific place.

If these are not questions you would ask directly (which they shouldn't be), you probably shouldn't ask them implicitly, either.

Note: asking US employees (on visas and incl green card holders) to leave the US for work is also an implicit asking of these questions.

Basically any kind of travel involving US has become super loaded with inappropriate questions and I hope your HR people are handling it.

Ofc this ban is inhumane but since tech cos mainly seem to not gaf about that perhaps we should raise the practical questions too.
